Jump Dash Jump is a challenging pixel-art platformer about a little messenger moth.

You never walk: you jump. Flap to stay in the air, dash through tight gaps, and never touch the ground, the walls or the ceiling. Every edge is deadly.

Simple controls, hard to master. Die, retry, get faster.

This demo includes the first 10 levels.

Controls: Move A/D · Jump Space · Dash Shift · Retry R · Pause Esc (gamepad supported)

This game has a lot of potential, but I found it difficult to enjoy. Most importantly, the starting levels are far too difficult. I understand this is supposed to be very difficult, like Celeste, but it is not easy to get into and figure out the movement when it takes so long to beat even just the first level. Since you are making the game, it feels easier to you, because you have a ton of practice, that a new player does not. Also, the music does not loop. This is a simple fix, you can just click on your music file in the FileSystem (bottom left in Godot) and make it loop, which should work for most audio formats. Also, I would recommend randomizing the pitch of the jumping/flying sounds a little, because it gets VERY repetitive after a while. You can do this with $AudioStreamPlayer.pitch_scale = randf_range(0.9,1.1). Just make sure to set the reference to your audio player, and do it for both. the "randf_range" function is just a random float between the 2 values provided.

TLDR: This game was very unique mechanics, style, and idea, but it needs a lot of improvements to reach it's potential.

Thank you very much for the feedback. I will definitely look into it.
Do you think the art style matches the concept and mechanics of the game?
